Slovosled v anglickej vete S + V + O + M + P + T
S - subject/podmet + V-verb/sloveso/ + O - object/ predmet + M-adverb of manner/príslovkové určenie spôsobu + P-place/ miesta + T - time/ času.
Sloveso + predmet
Vo vete sú sloveso a predmet (čo?) zvyčajne spolu a nedávame medzi ne žiadne slová.
verb + object
I likemy cat very much. (not I like very much my cat)
Did you see your friends yesterday? (not did you see yesterday your friends)
Susan often plays tennis. (not Susan plays often tennis)
Miesto a čas
V anglickej vete patria sloveso a miesto k sebe.
go home live in a city walk to work etc.
take somebody home meet a friend in the street
Ben walks to work every morning. (not Ben walks every morning to work.)
Sam has been in Canada since April. (not Sam has been since April in Canada.)
We arrived at the airport early. (not We arrived early at the airport.)
